October Community Update

Exciting developments are underway at the new hospital construction site! The concrete pre-cast walls are now being installed, with eight to ten panels going up each day. It’s an impressive sight and a major step toward completing the new facility.

Structural steel contractors will begin their work in the next two weeks, marketing another key construction phase. Meanwhile, concrete work for the building pad continues, and we anticipate the asphalt for the parking lots to be laid this week. Additionally, the excavation of the pond is progressing as planned.

The hardworking construction crews are making an impact beyond the hospital, contributing to our local economy and building strong connections in the community.

The crews have found some favorite local eating spots in Bethany and other Harrison County communities. Many workers are avid outdoors people and enjoy purchasing gear from local shops such as sporting goods stores. Some have even become members of a nearby shooting range to pass the time for after-work fun.

Currently, 25-30 workers are on-site daily, but as the project advances into spring, this number will dramatically increase to 100-200 workers each day. Many of these workers will live in the community until the project is completed. The contractors have been using many of our local mechanic shops to maintain their vehicles, and many staying for extended periods have found lodging at local RV parks.

The presence of these crews not only accelerates the hospital’s progress but also boosts the economy of our surrounding communities. As we move forward, we remain on track to complete the project by April 2026, delivering a facility that will provide enhanced healthcare services to our area.
