Harrison County Community Hospital Offers $99 3D Mammograms for Uninsured Women During October

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Harrison County Community Hospital (HCCH) offers uninsured women $99 3D Mammograms throughout October. This initiative aims to promote the importance of early detection in the fight against breast cancer and make essential health services accessible to all women in the community. Please note that an additional mammogram reading fee through Alliance Radiology will still apply.

Erica Babinski, RT(R)(M)(CT)(BD), Imaging Services Director and Mammographer at HCCH, emphasizes the hospital’s commitment to breast cancer awareness. ” Early detection of breast cancer can significantly increase the chances of successful treatment, and we want to ensure that every woman has access to this potentially life-saving screening,” Babinski said. ” Our goal is to remove financial barriers and raise awareness about the importance of routine mammograms. Offering $99 3D Mammograms to uninsured women is just one way we are working to make healthcare accessible to all patients in our community.”

HCCH is partnering with local businesses to raise awareness and support for the Harrison County Cancer Transportation Fund, which provides transportation financial assistance to patients undergoing cancer treatment. Blak Barrel Coffee is donating 50% of all proceeds on October 18 to the Cancer Transportation Fund, while North Harrison School organized multiple fundraisers contributing $518.81 to the cause. Additionally, Little Clara’s Garden donated all the funds from their Petal It Forward initiative to the Cancer Transportation Fund, helping alleviate the financial burden for local families affected by cancer.

The hospital will host its annual Miles for Miles Cancer Walk on Friday, October 18, at 5:00 p.m. The walk will begin at HCCH and conclude at the South Harrison Football Stadium, where participants can enjoy an HCCH-hosted tailgate before the Pink Out football game. All proceeds from the event will go toward the Cancer Transportation Fund.
